Three Easy Valentines Enrichment Ideas for Your Bunny

Whilst romance comes and goes there will always be one, true relationship in your life, rooted in undying loyalty. So, it is time to spoil the true love of your life: your bunny. They may not always be reciprocative in their love, especially after their nails being clipped, but you are the sole constant (source of food) in their life, making you their special someone. Plus, there is nothing cuter than watching them interact with some little valentines themed enrichment ideas - right?

These boredom busting activities are great at keeping your bunnies happy and engaged, whilst adding a little bit of fun in their day to day routine. There is no better way at showing your love than giving them some natural treats and encouraging their natural foraging instincts. We have repurposed our Valentines Monthly Box by cutting up the lid and re-using the box in these ideas, as a fun way to recycle it. We have also used the forage from this box to use in the ideas, such as heart shaped forage treat. However, do feel free to use any cardboard box and forage you have to hand.

Valentines Forage Box

With your leftover monthly box, it is quite easy to create your own DIY forage box, filled with tasty timothy hay, beautiful flowers, crunchy dandelion roots, and finished with our Valentine's Feast heart shaped treat. This box will encourage your bun to forage through to find their favourite treats and provide hours of enrichment fun.

1. Cut off the lid of your box.

2. Fill with a mix of timothy hay, your choice of forage (we chose our Bunny Bouquet and Hoppy Valentines Salad from our monthly box), and dandelion roots.

3. Top with our tasty ‘Valentine's Feast’ heart shaped forage treat.

4. Place on the floor for you bunnies to enjoy + potentially tip over.

'Be Mine' Cardboard Heart

This enrichment treat couldn’t be any simpler and the bunnies will love to throw it around to their heart’s content. Packed with hay and our premium flower mix, this cute enrichment idea is the best way to give your bunny a bouquet of flowers for valentines.

1. Cut two hearts out of cardboard with a hole at both sides.

2. Sandwich the hay + flowers between the cardboard. Thread string through the holes and tie.

3. Allow your bunnies to munch + enjoy.

Cut-out Heart Goodie Bags

All you will need to create these little goodie bags are a paper bag, scissors, and a piece of string - easy. Cute, simple, and allows your bunny to rummage to find the tasty forage. Fill with your bunny’s favourite treats and forage - we used a combination of dandelion roots, premium flower mix, and timothy hay.

1. Find a paper bag of your choice, removing any handles if necessary.

2. Cut out a heart shape in the centre of the bag with a hole on both sides at the top of the bag. Fill with your choice of hay, forage + treats. Thread the string through the holes and tie.

3. Place on the floor or hang with the string so your bunnies can rummage.
