Flaked peas are absolutely adored by guinea pigs! A delicious, healthy snack that is sure to help you get closer and interact with your piggies. They are also loved by rabbits, rodents, gerbils, hamsters, and almost all small animals. These natural treats contain an amino acid called lysine, a nutrient that some small animals can’t produce themselves, and it is vital this nutrient is provided in their daily food. Lysine helps the body absorb calcium, and it also turns fat into energy. They should be fed as a treat or as a topper to hay for added foraging fun! Although flaked peas have less sugar than other veggies, they should still be fed in moderation - we recommend a small handful per day.

How much natural forage can I feed my rabbit?

If you ask your bunnies, they will say there is no such thing as too much forage!

For the most part - they are correct, you can feed your bunnies as much natural forage as they will eat, we recommend mixing handfuls in with their hay as well as giving handfuls throughout the day.

There are certain scenarios where you should limit forage, for example, if your rabbit is overweight you should limit forage that is high in protein & sugars.
